If you were following me since the beginning of my Fruits & Fashion Series, you would notice that this was not the piece I intended to use for "Orange" in my original idea. In my Series Preview, I had planned to make something using a different orange fabric, but as we all know, life can take you a different route than you planned. Oh well!

My Style Oasis, Ankara Bustier Top

While brainstorming for the Fruits And Fashion Series, my mom sent me this top, and it just fell right into place with the other pieces I had! I'd love to make another bustier top like this, perhaps with a sweetheart neckline, like my little white dress.

Sneak Peek - AVOCADO

My earliest memory of eating avocado involved sprinkling a pinch (or two) of salt on it before scooping out the deliciousness with a spoon. That's how we eat it in my home country, Nigeria. And that's how I eat it to this day.

Hello lovely people!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was packed, but very memorable. On Friday, I celebrated 5 years of marriage with my husband. On Saturday, we had our first Women's Conference in our church. And on Sunday, our church celebrated 9 years in ministry! Praise God!

It was a glorious weekend, and I would blog about it, but I didn't get to take pictures with my camera, as I was involved in the planning, setup and participating. Plus, my kids were an extra handful. Which is why I NEED A PHOTOGRAPHER!

[Shameless plug: If you or anyone you know is a photographer in the Greater Philadelphia area, and are interested in working with me and my brand, please feel free to leave a comment below, or send me a message at]

I usually take most of my blog pictures myself, and although I had gotten quite used to it (and frankly, quite better too), for the Fruits and Fashion Series, I chose to seek the help of my dear friend and blogger, Memkoh, who graciously became my photographer for the past month or so. My many thanks go out to her for the first four posts in the Fruits and Fashion Series

Unfortunately for me Fortunately, this my Blogger BFF moved away to pursue her dreams of changing the future. And I've been here stalling with going back to my usual tripod set up.

So, with a nonchalant attitude one evening, I set up shop on my back deck. Here are the results.
